The Shelter Valley Shape-Note Singers gather once a month to sing early American harmony from the Sacred Harp tradition. We sing for the joy of it, pure and simple! Everyone participates – it is not a performance – and new voices are always welcome.
We sing on the second Sunday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Grafton Community Centre (135 Old Danforth Road in Grafton, Ontario).
All voices and all ages are welcome, and no musical experience is necessary. We take a free-will offering at each singing to assist in paying for the use of the space and funding the delicious snacks we enjoy at break time. Songbooks (The Sacred Harp, 1991 edition) are available for the use of new or visiting singers.
